GROUP THERAPY at IPP
Our Group Therapy program provides teens with a unique opportunity to learn essential life skills in a safe, collaborative environment. Led by our experienced therapists, each group session is designed to bring peers together using evidence-based approaches that promote growth, resilience, and practical skill-building. Group therapy fosters a sense of belonging, allowing teens to learn alongside others who understand their challenges and experiences.
BENEFITS of GROUP THERAPY
Developing Social and Communication Skills: Teens practice interacting in a group setting, enhancing their ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships.
Learning New Coping Mechanisms: By sharing experiences and strategies, participants gain valuable insights and coping skills that help them handle stress and overcome challenges.
Increased Self-Esteem and Confidence: Group settings allow teens to see their growth in real-time, building self-assurance as they gain new skills.
WHAT TO EXPECT from GROUP THERAPY
Skill Building with Real-Life Application
Group therapy isn’t just about learning skills—it’s about putting them into practice with the support of others. Each session focuses on hands-on approaches that help teens build confidence in managing emotions, handling stress, and improving communication. Teens are guided through exercises that translate directly to their everyday lives, helping them tackle real-world challenges.
Supportive Peer Connections
Teens often feel more comfortable discussing their experiences and learning new skills with people their own age. In our group sessions, participants find a community of peers who understand what they’re going through. These supportive connections provide a foundation for trust, allowing teens to share openly, learn from each other, and feel less alone in their journeys.
Evidence-Based Approaches
Our group therapy sessions draw from proven, evidence-based methods tailored to the unique needs of teens. Our therapists integrate approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide skills that enhance emotional regulation, resilience, and interpersonal relationships.
